**Sphinx rises on her soapbox with a sigh**: I know a lot of people have probably given up on this site. I think I might have even given up on it, too, during the points where school, work and life just seemed to take up all of my time. But I do know that some people still come here. And I know there are not many places like this that feature alternate pairings (that more people seem to be interested in and accepting these days). So I just wanted to thank the few people who email me with their helpful comments and support for this site. It's because of you that I'm keeping it open.

This notice is to finalize the fact that Alternatives is no longer accepting submissions for the fanfiction archive. If there are any new fics you might notice upon occasion, they are of my choice, usually because of their superior quality I have found when browsing the net.

From now on, everyone must use the new forum system which is explained on the new Alternatives forum page.

I am really disappointed about the lack of Alternative stories on the Blissful Ignorance forums, but I'm hoping it's just because not a lot of people realize there is an Alternatives pairing forum. I blame myself for the lack of publicity, and the fact that the lack of updates to this site in the past year has probably caused the loss of visitors. However, I hope to correct all of that now. The forums may seem intimidating, but they really are extremely easy to use (I've made a 'lil help guide), and you can even post reviews. Please, everyone...I know we can make the Alternatives forum grow!! Please post your stories!!!

Chapters to unfinished fanfictions in the archive will of course still be featured in the archive. Please send new chapters to me and I will update them as soon as possible. And I do recommend reposting stories already featured in the Alternatives archive on the forum as well.

Fanarts cannot be submitted to forums, therefore please keep sending them to me and I will update whenever I can. Also, I'll probably wait until I have at least two or three pictures to update, so unless people start sending me some fanart, those updates will be few and far between.

Please email with any questions, comments, and suggestions about the new changes. I will be happy to answer you and hear any thoughts you might have.

Happy Valentine's Day! I thought I should make an update today so you could read some great fics to put you in the romantic mood. Oh, and take a lookie at this CUTE CUTE CUTE chibi pic made especially for me by the wonderful, and oh so talented Lauren to get me in the Valentine's Day spirit! WOOOOOOOO!!! Thankies! Important Announcement:

I just wanted to thank the people who responded to my rather frustrated request for a Heero/Noin fic. To those people I talked to - you know who you are - be thinking about what fanart you'd like to request. Otherwise, my offer of creating a fanart for authors undertaking the fic challenge is now over. Maybe if you send me an email expressing your interest in writing a HY x LN story real quick (as in no later than Friday evening) I'll consider it. I would love to extend the offer, but I've got to make buttons as prizes for Blissful Ignorance's Fanfiction Contest, so I'm pretty swamped in the art department. Alright, with that said, let's get to the good stuff!

I have instituted a new system of symbols (made by yours truly ^_~) to let you know about updates. I thought this would make things easier, seeing as the fanfiction page has grown rather large. The Black Rose and I have been trying to revamp Alternatives, but...well, you know how these things go, and it's taking us longer than we expected. So, for the time being, please bear with us.

On the fanfiction page, you'll find the pink star symbol in the author's name column when there's a new fic



And you'll find the purple heart symbol when there's been a new chapter added to a fic.
