One Night

Tried to make this as long as I could. Angsty, because when I made
the deal with my angst and death muses so I could do another lemon, I
had to have some angst in it. Sorry.
Hilde hugged her knees as she looked down the hill in the park at
the kids playing in the light of the early evening. She was still
running the events of earlier in her head. She didn't want Duo to
leave, it was too dangerous, he could get caught, White Fang could
find him, the recriminations went on and on in her head. Hilde
sighed, she didn't want to admit to herself the truth, that she loved
Duo and was afraid that he would die and leave her alone.
Hilde watched the little kids with envy. Not long ago, she was
like them, a child, a freshman in high school, concerned only with
grades, friends, and staying out of trouble with her stepmom. Now,
she was a former OZ cadet, presumed dead, her stepmother was killed
because her daughter was a traitor to the OZ cause, and Hilde was an
orphan. And, Hilde reminded herself, can't forget meeting Duo. She
knew her life would change the day she met Duo, from the moment she
gazed into those amethyst eyes. A gundam pilot, he should have just
killed her, she was an obstacle to his mission, but he instead swayed
her to his side of the fight. In switching to Duo's side, Hilde lost
everything, but also gained everything. She would never regret her
choice.
Now, Duo was leaving again, and Hilde wasn't sure if she'll ever
see him again. True, the Gundam pilots were nearly invicible, but
Hilde couldn't help worry about him, especially since he wouldn't
worry about himself.
"Babe, I've been looking everywhere for you.", Duo quietly said,
standing behind Hilde. 'God, I'm going to miss her.', Duo couldn't
help but think as the rays of the peeking moon glinted off her nearly
blue hair. "I'm sorry for the way I blew up at you earlier.", Duo
said. Hilde shrugged and said, "You're forgiven.".
Duo stood for another moment before joining her on the grass. Duo
tried to say something, then stopped as if he was unsure of himself.
He tried again, putting his arm around Hilde's shoulders. "I got mad
when suggested coming along because, well, I, Hilde, you're the only
person I have left, I want to know that you're safe, not in danger.",
Duo said, vulnerability in his voice.
Hilde turned to him and said, "But I want to help make a
difference, to help the colonies just like you.". Duo fought the urge
to yell and quietly said, "I think it'll be better if you stayed
here, away from the battlefield. Plus, there's the scrapyard to think
about too, Hilde, you'll have to run it while I'm gone.", his
expression turning a little cheerful now that he had found an
argument to support his reasons for Hilde to stay.
Hilde turned from him, getting up from her seat. Turning back to
Duo, Hilde said, "It's getting colder and it's getting late. You have
to leave early tomorrow, don't you.", waiting for him to get up. Duo
got up, shooting Hilde a lazy smile as he held out his hand to her.
This time, unlike other nights, Hilde didn't take it, prefering to
walk by herself.
Duo walked up to the house, his expression pensive. He understood
why Hilde was pissed, he would be the same way if he was her
shoes. 'Maybe I need to tell her why I really don't want her to
accompany me.', Duo thought as he walked through the door.
Finding Hilde sitting on her bed, Duo sat next to her. Hilde
began, "You don't have to explain anymore why you want me to stay
here, Duo.", but Duo stopped her with a finger to her lips. Scooting
closer to her, Duo said, "Hilde, I think I need to tell you the most
important reason why I want you to stay here." Hilde looked at him as
if he was really trying her patience, but she waited for him to tell
her what he had to say.
Duo swallowed, then told himself "Fuck it, might as
well.". "Hilde, I don't want you to leave with me because I love you.
I want to be able to go into battle and know that the girl I love is
safe and sound. I don't want to have to worry about enemies capturing
you, or you getting injured or dying.", Duo said, vulnerability
written all over his tone and face.
Hilde looked at him, first elation on her face, then skepticism.
Hilde said, "Duo, you really love me, or is this just a ploy to make
me happy?". Duo looked at Hilde as if she was crazy before a slow
smile enveloped his face as he thought of his next action.
Grasping Hilde's chin, Duo smirked and said, "If I didn't love
you, would I do this?", as he kissed her. Hilde's senses swam, as she
felt Duo's taste and his tongue on hers, as if he was trying to drink
in one taste. As he ended the kiss, Hilde gasped, saying, "I sure as
hell wasn't expecting that Duo.", as she gazed at him dazedly.
"Well, babe, I want more.", Duo said wickedly as he watched
Hilde's expression change from surprise to astonishment to desire.
Hilde laughed, surprising Duo. "That's something I've wanted to hear
for awhile.". Duo laughed tentatively, then smirked as he realized
that she was giving him permission.
Duo kissed Hilde again, but Hilde was ready this time. Their
tongues dueled, as Hilde returned the favor by exploring his mouth
this time. Her arms came around his neck as Duo held her chin,
keeping her in their kiss as one hand went around her waist. Sighing,
Hilde ended their kiss as she gasped for air. Moving his lips to her
neck, Duo took advantage as Hilde arched her neck, allowing him
greater access.
Hilde moved her fingers to his shirt, unbuttoning it as Duo
wriggled to give her access, pulling it off as she was finished with
the buttons. Hilde went to his undershirt next, as she tossed it over
his head. Running her fingers down his chest, Hilde giggled as Duo
mock growled at her, complaining that her hands were cold. Hilde
giggled even more as Duo's expression changed as her fingers brushed

To distract Hilde and allow him greater access to other parts of
her body, Duo began to take off her shirt, as Hilde raised his arms
to allow him to get it over her head. Pausing as he gazed at her lacy

much. 'Duo, I love you too, take care of yourself.', Hilde silently
prayed before continuing with her day.
