Heero's POV
I still can't believe that she moved on. Five years she had
been chasing me, convinced that she only needed me to be happy. At
first, I didn't want her, I was scared of having feelings other than
pain and satisfaction of completing a mission. However, now, when I'm
ready to confess my feelings, I find out that she's dating some other
guy, some guy named Roger Marin. A fellow diplomat, a pacifist,
rather clean, but I just don't feel that he's what he seems. But now,
I don't have Relena, and if I said what I feel about her boyfriend,
she'll probably accuse me of being jealous and ignore me. What do I
do?
Relena's POV
Dammit, I convinced myself during his absence that I don't
need him anymore. He constantly pushed me away, saying that he didn't
need me. Duo always said that it wasn't true, that he did love like I
loved him, but I needed to hear it from him, those 3 little words,
but he never said them. Now, I'm in a relationship with a man who
loves me, but Heero still gets my heart racing whenever he's close to
me. Roger seems to approve of the fact that Heero's my personal
bodyguard, but I just feel like somethings going to happen.
2 months later
Heero's POV
"Hey Heero!" "What?" "Don't just dislike that slimeball
that
Relena's dating? He just irks the hell out of me." Duo plopped right
down next to me. For the last 2 months, Duo has been trying to make
me angry about 'the relationship', trying to get a reaction that'll
prove to him that I love Relena. Hilde's neutral towards him, but I
know she feels that Relena and I should be together. The Barton-
Catalonia family hates Roger's guts, especially since Mr. Marin, a
member of the Romefeller Foundation, managed to get on Dorothy's bad
side on a financing dispute over a company that she owns, and tried
to propositon her at a ball with Trowa in definite hearing range.
It's just the fact that he's dating Relena that he's not dead. Wufei
manages to bait him during the painfully few times they meet, while
Sally just tolerates him. Hell, the only one who seems to like him is
Zechs, and that's because he hates me. A red flash on my laptop
alerts us as something troubling comes up. "Yo, Heero, it seems that
Trowa's trying to send us a nice vid-message." I open it and I was a
little surprised. "So Relena's dream man isn't as innocent that he
seems.", Duo says, as I murmur my assent. But how am I going to use
this information?
Relena's POV
Everytime that I try to go out with Roger now, he always acts
as if he has something more important to do. Shit, this is the fourth
date, and second lunch date that he's broken. "Relena, you don't have
to put up with this." Dammit, he always surprises me everytime with
his sneak entrances. Everytime I look at him, I seem to fall for him
a little more. His chocolate brown bangs, his sapphire blue eyes,
dammit Relena, you're supposed to be over him, you're dating someone
else, but he's so handsome... I could have this arguement a thousand
times. "Relena, why don't we go out for lunch, the Vice Foriegn
Minister, and her bodyguard?", he says with a slight smile. I can't
believe my ears, Heero Yuy, asking me out on a sorta date, and
smiling? Whoa, somethings wrong, but I can't help but say yes.
Heero's POV
For the first time in a while, Relena's relaxing around me.
It's as if the absence of Roger is lightening her. But her next
question surprised me. "Do you think I should break up with him, I
mean Roger? We don't spend as much time together anymore, and I feel
like he's hiding something from me." I reply, "I don't know, but you
should ask him about what he's hiding." I can't help but mentally
kick myself when I realized what I said. I should have said yes, but
now I can't. Plus, her expression is a little sad, as if she wanted
me to say what I wanted to say. "I really don't know, I mean, I've
noticed that everyone doesn't like him, even Milliardo (Heero don't
snort), especially Dorothy and Trowa, I know what happened. Maybe I
made the wrong choice." I have nothing I can say in response.
1 week later
Heero's POV
It's the yearly Peacecraft Christmas ball, the most exclusive
party in the entire Earth Sphere United Nation. Everythings been
checked out, there better not be any loose ends in the security.
Relena's still dating Roger, even though everyone thinks it's because
she doesn't want to be dateless during the holidays. It would be
political suicide to break up during these high profile holidays with
all of the balls, dinner parties, and rabid reporters just looking
for scandal. But I just can't shake the feeling that somethings going
to happen. "Heero, how are you?" I see Quatre, his sister Iria,
Catherine, Dorothy and Trowa, as they enter the ballroom. "Dammit
Trowa, he's right there and he's coming towards us.", Dorothy said as
Roger and Relena approached us. "Welcome everybody, I presume that
everyone's feeling pretty good.", Roger said. "Everything was nice
until we saw your face.", Trowa said. Roger merely smiled and turned
to Iria. Everyone but Relena noticed how he gave her the look over,
until Quatre nicely showed him the gun hidden in his cummerbund,
causing our Roger to flinch and drag Relena to the other side of the
ballroom. "I really don't know what she sees in him, but I bet that
they'll break up soon, hopefully very soon.", Catherine said, as she
dragged Quatre to the dancefloor. As Trowa and Dorothy left to greet
some of their business friends, Iria and Istood off to the side of
the ballroom. "You love her, you want her, but you think that you'll
never have her now." I didn't even notice Zechs approaching
me. "Dammit, I like you better than I like him. Something's very
wrong." Iria laughed while Zechs said, "I hope she dumps him for you
soon." I couldn't help bu laugh in disbelief after that.
Relena's POV
I noticed the way he looked at Iria, but I brushed it off. I
was really tired of him, the way he was. I heard that he was sleeping
with his secretary, everyday, while he looked for ways to get out of
taking me out. I'm really tired of this shit, but I can't break up
with him till after New Years. It would be too much bad publicity to
break up with him now, but I really want to. "Sally, Wufei, I didn't
notice that the two of you were here." Wufei said, "We would have
been here earlier if this onna wouldn't have waited to the last
minute to get dressed and do her hair." Sally merely smiled and
said, "We enjoying ourselves, event though we saw your boyfriend
sneaking off somewhere. Wufei was going to follow him, but we saw
Noin going after him, and Lady Une decided to come and talk to us." I
merely nodded and wondered, where was he going?
Third-person POV
Heero thought, 'This ball is business as usual', as he
walked towards Relena. But as soon as he reached Relena, a blast
rocked the place. Seein Zechs who gave him a thumbs up as he started
to herd the people into an orderly crowd, Heero picked up Relena and
made for the doors. "Heero...", Relena said weakly, as Heero dumped
her unceremoniously into the nearest car and drove off to his
apartment. As they stepped into his apartment, Relena said, "Heero,
why did you bring me here?". Heero replied, "Because we need you to
be somewhere safe." "Why, who could be behind this?" "I need
to get
some more info, but your boyfriend could be behind this." "What,
Roger? I don't seem surprised though." "Your boyfriend wasn't as
goody-goody as he seemed." Relena sat down on the bed as she watched
Heero strip off his dress jacket, tie, and shirt. Enjoying the show,
but a little apprehensive, Relena asked, "What are you doing
Heero?" "Undressing. We're not going out until tomorrow, so I suggest
that you take off that dress. I'll get you something to wear." Relena
thought, 'I would like to wear you', a little mischievously. Heero
felt her eyes on him, especially when he bent down on picked up
something. "Heero?" "What?" "Where am I going to
sleep?" Heero
thought 'shit', he didn't think of that. "I'll take the couch, you
can take the bed." "Why don't we share the bed, I mean, its December,
it's cold, and I know that the couch has to seem to be really cold."
Heero thought, 'fuck it, might as well'. But as he settled next to
her, he couldn't help but notice how warm, how soft she was. 'Dammit
she's dating.', he thought as he felt her arms come around
him. "Heero", Relena breathed as she brought his lips down to
hers. 'She's so soft, tastes so good.', was Heero's last coherent
thought as he felt her move her hands over him. 'Finally', was
Relena's last thought as surrendered to her feelings. (technically,
since I'm not 18, I'm not supposed to know about that, but I do, and
I'm going to pretend innocence, so no lemony freshness)
Sometime later
Heero woke up to the unfamiliar sensation of someone's head on
his shoulder. Thinking that it was an intruder, he relaxed when he
saw Relena, peacefully sleeping. He murmured, "I love you, Relena
Peacecraft Darlian." He was slightly jolted when he heard Relena
say, "You do, you actually love me. You must know that I love you too
Heero." "What about Roger?" "I'll dump him today, I'm in no
mood to
move yet." Heero agreed, but a beeping from the vidphone got his
attention. "Heero, good its you. RELENA!!", Hilde said, "Thank
God
Duo's not here or you two would never here the end of this. Yall are
do at Preventers headquarters within the hour." "Alright.",
Relena
said as Hilde hanged up. "What do you think everyone will say?",
Relena asked. "Don't care, even though everyone will probably be
happy.", Heero replied.
At headquarters, Duo said, "So the two of you finally did it.
Hilde told me." Hilde said, "He coerced me until I told him."
Milliardo said, "I just don't care anymore." "Ha", said
Noin. "Anyway, back to business", said Sally, "It seems that your
boyfriend was part of the remnants of White Fang. He used his
relationship with you to get access to the Peacecraft mansion, so he
could plant the bomb. The mission was to get rid of you and Lady Une,
Relena." Heero asked, coldly, "Is he dead?". "Yes",
said Quatre. "It
was a suicide mission. ", added Wufei. "Taking it back to Heero and
Relena, what happened to between the two of you?", prodded Duo,
causing Milliardo to say, "I really don't want to know.", as he left.
Relena blushed, and Heero merely smiled, causing Duo to say, "Woo
hoo, finally!". Relena blushed harder while Heero groaned, they would
never hear the last of it.
8 years later
Heero's POV
Just watching his wife and daughter play in the sand, Heero
thought, this was where we first met, I, a suicidal Gundam pilot and
Relena, a spoiled brat. 12 years later, we're married, she, still the
Vice Foreign Minister, and me, second-in-command in the Preventers,
under only Lady Une. I love Relena so much, I don't know what I would
do without her. I'll always thank God for giving me a second chance
to have Relena, a second chance for love.
