~Relena enters her room, looks alone and dejected~
Relena: How is it I come home every night alone?
~Crosses the room and heads for the closet, taking off her business suit. As she changes, she doesn’t notice the strange, dark shadow that’s watching her intently~
Relena: I feel so lonely. Maybe I never got over him…
~Collapses on her bed, and stares at the ceiling~
Relena: God… I fell in love with a guy trying to kill me. A good looking guy though…
~View switches to the shadow, you see it’s Heero, watching Relena’s every move~
Heero: **God, she’s beautiful**
~Relena turns off her light and falls deep asleep~
Heero: **I shouldn’t do this… This isn’t the mission! The mission was to protect Relena, THAT’S ALL! **
~Heero stares at her sleeping body, and hesitantly climbs into her room~
Relena: Mmm… Don’t leave me! Please not again…
~Heero stops, and gazes at her. He realizes she’s just talking in her sleep~
Heero: **What is she dreaming about? Something painful? **
~Relena hugs a small brown teddy bear to her heart, and starts to cry~
Relena: Ugh… Heero, don’t fight… please, not again…
Heero: **Is she dreaming about… Me? **
~Heero makes his way over to her. He carefully sits down next to her resting body and gently runs his hand through her hair. ~
Heero: **Relena… Stop crying! I’m right here next to you! **
~Relena stops crying and resumes sleeping peacefully~
Heero: **Much better, I hate seeing you cry**
~Heero runs his hand over her arm. Relena slowly opens her eyes to see Heero gently smiling down at her. She blinks to see if it was just an illusion her mind had played. No, Heero was really there, holding her, and softly touching her smooth skin. ~
Relena: He… Heero?
~Heero merely nodded and continued running his hand along her arm. ~
Relena: Heero, what are you doing here?
~Heero says nothing and continues stroking her skin lightly. ~
Relena: **His touch is so soft, as soft as it was the day I met him… **
~Heero gently touches her hair and picks her up~
Relena: Heero, Why? I didn’t think you’d ever come back…
Heero: I was sent to protect you…
Relena: **Sigh, I should have guessed…**
Heero: I’ve been watching you for quite some time.
Relena: Really? I never knew… Why didn’t you let me see you?
Heero: My mission was to protect you… I knew if you saw me, it would just make things harder.
Relena: I understand, but Heero why are you showing yourself now?
Heero: I couldn’t resist.
Relena: I see. Heero have you always felt this way about me?
Heero: … (A.N. Heero’s silent, Wow, what a change.)
Relena: It’s okay; you don’t have to tell me…
~Heero responds by slowly brushing his lips against Relena’s. Relena pulls him closer, and starts kissing more passionately (passionately? That just doesn’t sound right). They FINALLY stop, and Heero murmurs something barely audible. ~
Heero (whispers): Aishiteru (is that the right way to spell that? I’m Korean, not Japanese!)
Relena: Oh, Heero, I love you too…
~Next morning, Relena’s mansion~
Relena (VERY cheerfully): Good Morning, Miss Noin! Good Morning, Zechs!
~Zechs drops his coffee mug. ~
Noin: Zechs, correct me if I’m wrong, but did Relena just DANCE out of her room?
~Zechs just stares surprised, as his sister cheerfully pours some coffee. ~
Zechs: **How strange, Relena hasn’t smiled a REAL smile since the wars ended, and Heero decided to disappear AGAIN. **
Noin: Relena, are you feeling all right?
Relena: Of course, Noin! Why wouldn’t I?
Zechs: You haven’t been this cheerful in about oh… three years?
~Relena laughs and bites into her food. ~
Relena: Well, I had a visitor last night…
~Zechs gawks at her, shocked. Relena smiles at her brothers worry. ~
Relena: Don’t worry! We didn’t do anything! Well, not quite…
Zechs: What do you mean, not QUITE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Relena: We just kissed a little and that’s it! Don’t worry about me!
Noin: Exactly who is this ‘visitor’?
Relena: I’ll let you figure that one out yourself!
~Zechs and Noin look at each other, then gapes at Relena~
Zechs: NO! No way!!!! It can’t be!!!
Relena: You guessed it!
Noin: Duo?
~Relena falls over and Zechs sweatdrops~
Relena: NO!!!! It’s a certain dark eyed, suicidal, pilot. (A.N. I couldn’t resist saying suicidal)
Noin: The only one that matches that description is… No way!!!
~Relena nods mischievously~
Zechs: YOU SHOULDN’T BE DOING THESE THINGS!!! YOU’RE NOT OLD ENOUGH!!!
Relena: Zechs, I’m nineteen years old! I’ve waited 3 years for this!
~Zechs starts to murmur unrepeatable words~
Noin: Zechs, get a life.
~Noin turns to Relena~
Noin: So, you really didn’t DO anything?
Relena: NO! Of course not! I want to wait it out, at least a week. (No! I’m not sick! Relena’s nineteen now for god’s sake!)
Zechs: A WEEK? Try a lifetime!
Relena: ZECHS!! I’m NINETEEN!! You’ve got to let me go! Besides I was just joking.
Zechs: Of all men… She chose a Gundam pilot!! And of all the Gundam pilots, she chose HEERO!!!
~Noin slams her foot down on Zechs’s toe~
Zechs: WHAT WAS THAT FOR!!!!
Noin: For being such a downer! Relena’s happy!! You SHOULD be happy for her!!
Zechs: I am!! I would just be happier if she chose someone else. Heck I’d be happier for WuFei!!
Noin: MILLIARDO PEACECRAFT!!!
Relena: **I wonder if they even know that I’m here? I don’t care. I’d rather think about last night. Of Heero…**
Zechs: Relena! Why do you have such a happy expression on your face?
Relena: **Can he just tell if I’m even thinking about Heero? ** No reason, Zechs.
Noin: You were thinking about HIM, weren’t you?
Relena: Why would you think that Noin?
Noin: That dreamy look on your face.
~Relena blushed as red as the tomato she was eating~
Relena: Weeellll. Yes.
Zechs: WHY did you fall in love with a guy who was trying to kill you?
Relena: He’s a little different. Okay, Heero’s really different. That’s what I love about him. I mean, how did a nice woman like Noin fall in love with you, Zechs?
~Relena received a VERY dangerous death glare from her brother~
Noin: Relena, you better go, I’ll help your brother calm down.
~Relena quickly walked away as Noin pinned Zechs down to his chair~
~At Quatra’s house~
Duo: He he… So, why did you invite us over again Quatra?
Hilde: DUO!! Weren’t you paying any attention this morning?
Duo: Uh… Well, um… Is that a rhetorical question?
Hilde: Grrrrrr…
~Duo starts to back away~
Duo: He, he… I think I should go…
~Duo runs away with Hilde hot on his trail~
Quatra: Well, back to what I was saying. Uh, I invited you all over since we’ve hardly spent any time together since the war ended. The only one who isn’t here would be Relena.
Duo: Why isn’t she here?
Quatra: I’m not really sure, probably a little tied up since she IS the leader of the Sanyk kingdom and all.
~The doorbell rings~
Quatra: That must be her now.
Duo: I’ll get it.
~Duo runs to answer the door~
Duo: Hey Relena! Hey Heero! HEERO?!?
WuFei: Did he just say…
~Everyone runs to the door~
Quatra: Heero? What are you doing here?
Heero: … Hi.
Relena: I dragged him along with me, do you mind Quatra?
Quatra: Of course not. But where have you been, Heero?
Heero: Away.
Relena: Can we come in? Quatra: Oh, yeah, sorry.
~Relena and Heero enter the house~
Duo: So, Heero, seriously, where have you been?
Heero: …
Relena: Give it up, Duo. I doubt if he’ll ever tell you.
Duo: WHAT!!! Even after 3 years?!?
Heero: Yes.
Duo: What do you know, he hasn’t forgotten how to talk.
Relena: Duo! Anyways, he’s here now.
WuFei: Injustice.
Quatra: What are you talking about?
WuFei: Nothing, just haven’t said that word in a while.
~Heero reaches and quietly holds Relena’s hand~
Relena: **Yes, he’s here. Heero’s returned. **
