Disclaimer: *sigh* I don’t own ‘em. Simply and understandable.
Okay, I’ve been getting some fan mail and I’d like to thank you people, you know who you are^^. Thank you for putting up with my incredible inconsistency. Like I said before, Writer’s Block. This chapter’s gonna be incredibly short.
Relena woke up the next morning, feeling refreshed. This was the first time in months she had such a peaceful rest. She got out of bed and walked into her kitchen to get some breakfast. She looked out at the sun, which was a bit higher in the sky, but not by much. Relena opened up the cupboards, searching for something she could use to eat. She also felt strangely excited, like a little girl on Christmas Day. The reason being she was going to see her old friends. Hildie and the others were due to arrive today, and she couldn’t wait to see them. Relena noticed a mug full of steamy hot coffee, which looked particularly tempting. Probably from Heero or Celeste. She poured herself a cup and turned on the television. Relena hopped up on one of the barstools and watched the interview they were showing on WNBN, the main news network. She frowned as she recognized Mrs Williams, the cynical columnist who made her living from criticizing every move Relena made. I wonder what she’s got to say about me today, she thought bitterly, as she watched the program.
“This L6 colony devastation is a disaster. Millions of innocent lives perished, families destroyed. But what I’d like to know is where is our Vice Foreign Minister, Ms Darlian, at the present moment? Did her realization of her responsibilities as a Minister finally catch up with her? Is she gallivanting around Europe? Where are you, Relena Darlian?” She said, with a superior air in her voice. Usually Relena would have just rolled her eyes and not give a second thought to what she said, but this time, much to her chagrin, she had to admit she was right. One of the colonies was just leveled by a dangerous organization, and it was her job to reassure the frightened people of the world and comfort the mourning ones too. Relena sank into her stool, knowing what she had to do.

Heero was in his office, typing up a report. He’d been their since five in the morning, seeing that he was going to be busy for the rest of the day, he figured that he’d might as well get an early start. There was a knock on his door. Probably Celeste.
“Come in,” he answered. The door opened and closed silently. Celeste would usually waltz in and say what she had to. “What is it?”
“Heero,” the voice said, quietly. It was Relena. She was standing by the door, a solemn expression on her face. “I have to go back.” Heero raised an eyebrow.
“Back where?” he asked. Relena stepped forward.
“I just realized that hiding out here isn’t doing much good. I have to look after my responsibility as Vice Foreign Minister to the colonies. I should be reassuring them that these people, who ever they are, will be caught,” she said determinedly. Heero leaned back in his chair.
“What about the organization? If they’re so powerful as to level a whole colony, because of a little dispute, they should know by now that you have the information. They’ll be out to kill you.” Relena put an unreadable expression across her face.
“Then so be it. My responsibility is far more important,” she replied firmly. Heero noticed the way her jaw was set, there was no reasoning with her, and her mind was made up. As a matter a fact, she was the only person, other than himself, he knew to be so stubborn. He nodded.
“I’ll go with you then,” he told her. Relena shook her head.
“That won’t be necessary. I can take care of myself, and I’ll have several guards looking after me.”
“I promised you before that I’ll protect you, and I intend to keep that promise,” Heero told her. Relena shrugged.
“Fine.”

The next day, Masaru was at his usual place, at his office window. He had to figure out who got that message, and also find a way to keep them quiet. He went from his window and turned on his PC and went onto the Internet. He did some key stroking and his goal was accomplished when he heard the cheery ping of his computer. Masaru decided that he should hack into David’s email account to see who he sent the message to. He also wanted to send a message to the Vice Foreign Minister, telling her that he wanted to meet with her. He did some more typing and he got the message, which he read. Masaru smirked. He always did get straight to the point. Oh well… Suddenly, Masaru’s eyes widened, and his blood drained from his face. He re-checked the email address to see if his eyes were tricking him. The email address, if he wasn’t mistaken, was the Ms Darlian’s. Shit! There goes my plan. She must die. Masaru switched of his computer and paced the room. He had to find a way to eliminate her, but not to make it look too conspicuous at the same time. Hmm. Masaru swore that he was making a hole in the floor, not that he cared. He raked a hand through his dark brown hair and sat at his desk. If it was one thing he was always taught, it was when there is a will, there is a way. And he was as sure as hell going to find a way out of this.
